Tutorial for Memory Book
Hello fellow bloggers, today I'm going to show you a tutorial on how I made the above memory book.
Firstly you will need tonic studios memory book dies, I have the following sets, Base creator die set, spring garden set, and the layered casecade die set.
to begin with you will need to cut a spine, with 6 slots for your book, I am going to do a 6 page book. You will also need to cut 12 pages, as 2 of each fit onto each spine. cut 10 smaller size backdrops, and 10 of the lacey frame die.
with the spine, glue the front page to the spine and then add glue to the page and stick the page over the other page, making sure you encase the spine within the 2 pages.
Contine gluing in the pages until all 6 pages are made and glued onto the spine, encorporating the spine into each page.
You will then need to strengthen the spine of your book, so measure it and cut card to size. Glue it onto the spine.
Once you have doen this, you need to decorate the front of your book, this will help strengthen the pages, the more layers you add, the stronger the page will be!
I like to start with decorating the front and back pages so that gives the book some substance and makes it thicker.
Top picture is the front of my book, bottom picture is the back page.
Once you have decorated your front and back, you can start to decorate the interior of your book. I like to add the backing parts of the page, so that I can then add the page contents on.
You can now add whatever style of page layout that you like.
I added various die cuts and flowers to decorate my book, using the Tonic memory book dies and a few from my stash.
Here is the finished book, hope you like the tutorial? Would love to hear your comments. If you have any questions, please ask.
I finished the front of with some flowers and added a sentiment to the spine.
P.S. I will be putting this book and several others that I will be making onto my Etsy page. You will also be able to buy my cards.
